Ask for comparable work
Request recent projects using the same material and a similar roof shape. A historic repair, a modern concrete reroof and a new barrel-tile installation call for different experience.
Verify the business
Confirm licensing where required, insurance, project availability and references directly. A directory entry is a record of publicly advertised services, not a warranty of workmanship.
Review the proposal
Look for identified products, the work below the tiles, attachment and flashing details, access plans, cleanup, warranty terms and the process for changes. Ask who will supervise the project.
Keep the agreement clear
