Define what must match
A reproduction brief should identify geometry, edge configuration, support points, visible texture, color range and the character of special pieces. State whether the work is a small repair, a complete slope or a more extensive conservation project. Different scopes may allow different visual compromises, but physical compatibility still needs examination.
Approve a working sample
Review a prototype against a representative original and a trial assembly prepared by the specialist. Examine fit and appearance together. A sample held in the hand can look convincing while producing a different course rhythm or shadow on the roof. Record which variations are acceptable and which require correction before a production order is released.
Connect production to the approval
Keep labeled accepted samples, dimensions, photographs and the written approval. Agree on how later batches will be compared, what accessories are included and how damaged or rejected units will be handled. Coordinate the material schedule with the contractor before removing the existing covering. A reproduction program needs both a conservation decision and a practical supply plan.
