Confirm that the documents apply
Check the exact tile, region, assembly, edition and approval conditions covered by each document. A general industry manual, a manufacturer detail and a local approval may have different scopes. An old downloaded PDF may have been superseded. Record those differences before assuming that a contradiction can be solved by choosing the most convenient detail.
Escalate a clear technical question
Describe the roof condition, cite the conflicting instructions and ask the responsible design professional or approving authority for a documented resolution. Include the manufacturer where product compatibility is involved. Do not average two dimensions, combine unrelated attachment options or use an informal verbal answer to override a project requirement.
Carry the resolution into the work
Update the relevant drawing, specification or written instruction and communicate it to the installer. Record the resolution in the project file with its author and date. If a substitution changes the assumptions, reopen the question before proceeding. Clear records make later inspections and repairs easier because the final assembly can be understood from evidence rather than reconstructed from conflicting brochures.
